YOUR HOSTS
DAVID JOHNSTON
The Property Planner
Property Planning Australia was born out of David’s vision to educate and empower Australians to make successful property, mortgage and money management decisions on the pathway to creating their ideal lifestyle.
CATE BAKOS
The Property Buyer
Purchasing her first property at 21, Cate continued to invest in property whilst developing her career in sales and marketing with Orica (formerly ICI). In 2003, Cate won a marketing and bursary award, however her passion for real estate saw her make the decision to move into the property industry as a sales agent in Melbourne’s Bayside. Qualifying and working as a mortgage broker after the birth of her daughter and throughout the GFC has become one of the most valuable ‘apprenticeships’ she could have served. Her appreciation of lending policy, loan restrictions, borrowing capacity calculation, and cashflow analysis is what sets her apart from her competitors.
MIKE MORTLOCK
The Quantity Surveyor
Mike Mortlock is a highly respected figure in the Australian property industry. As the Managing Director of MCG Quantity Surveyors, a national quantity surveying firm, Mike has helped the company become a two-time Clients' Choice Awards winner and featured on the Australian Financial Review's Fastest 100 Growing Companies list. His expertise lies in tax depreciation across residential, commercial, and industrial assets, having worked on buildings and assets in excess of $100 million in value.
